I had that once for a few weeks; the Epley maneuver did not help. I ended up in the ER (I probably would not have gone to the ER had I not been having unrelated aphasia, though) and they said they could either give me meclizine (I guess this is what you got?) or diazepam (Valium) and I guess I looked extremely anxious so they gave me a single Valium and the vertigo was gone in like half an hour and has not come back. Sadly, I don't think Valium is one of those drugs that people are especially inclined to give you if you ask. But for me it worked great!
