on the one hand, i really like to be able to "like" an entry as, like. a show of support to the poster. On the other hand. They have that, on Pillowfort, but there's no notification system whatsoever. So if you're the OP, you can look back at your blog and be like "oh there's seven likes on that post, great" but there's no, like. Kudos digest email, you know? There's not even a notif panel where they all scroll by and you think ok at least people are reading this even if they don't comment.
So, I guess, i should just get used to not having that heart symbol. Because really all it means is "i read this and felt like letting you know". I use it on Instagram to basically just mean that. (And when browsing Instagram with Small Niece in my lap, she insists on hearting every single post we scroll past, and at first I was like "no don't do that" and then I was like, "why the heck not, it's basically what I do, unless I don't like the person and am only following them to keep my eye on their shenanigans."
But it is nice to have a really low-spoons interaction possibility, and I will miss that. I also will miss being able to signal boost with like two clicks. now you gotta copy the URL down and make a new post to link to it, which like. Good, sure, but I'm not going to do that unless I can really focus on building that habit.
